My fav colors.
Gorgeous textures.
Fantabulous birdies compliments of IKE'S ART STORE (here.)

IKE'S WORLD CHALLENGE BLOG (here) has a good for the season (well not in Australia etc.) set of images.

There are many spring/summer/around the World images in Ike's Store (here.)

These feathers are SOOO cool eh?  I got a huge bag of them from the dollar tree.  Doesn't get any better than that!  The tape on the envelope, and all the papers are also from the dollar tree - oh! as is the card stock.

I was excited with the thought of writing the address around the frame on the envi, with Ike's Blue Tit1 Birdie and Blue Tit Cat King, and my return on the other top left chipboard.

Sidebar:  I am not a bird watcher and therefore colored these birdies in the same fashion that people color their poodles pink, in real life...a bit bizarre to me...but perhaps as bizarre as a purple, blue and lime green bird set!!!

Anything different at this point!  I seem to have lost my mojo for the last month, so this card makes me think it is possible to create something I like once again...

Blessings Always,

Who doesn't love an adorable kitty?
My Louis is just dreamy...
a playmate
a sleeping mate
a "brush me always" mate!

I'm not sure what I would do without my Louis...
my Dog who was born into the body of a Cat.

Yes, I have a Trans. Meow.
You think I am kidding?
Truly, I am not.

This cadog thinks, acts, feels JUST like a woof!

I questioned it at first - was it just that I was a "dog-god" person?

But nay.

Best friends, cat loathers and those who would scoop up every kitty they saw, if they could, say:

"WOW!  Louis is exactly like a Dog!"
awwww my poor little Louis born into the wrong body.
So serious I am!

So, having bragged talked about my cadog, it is a pleasure to enter Ike's blog
you heard it right!

I spent eons in love with coloring this image.
I am not such an animal colorer, just in terms of the shading that is required.
But somehow, my inner Lion (Leo here) was purring and I had the best time going with this colorama.

So enjoy!

Pop over to Ike's kitty blog...enter YOUR kitty or snag one of Ike's freebies or hop over to Ike's Store.

They are dreamy and in love you will fall!

So, with huge love in my heart for my Louis...here we go.

It's a Samara Thing!

the one that probably describes me the best

Ta Da!

MEDUSA and her sketchy body parts!!!

(and cadavorie stuffs from Ike's Art Store
upon which I did limb by limb digital surgery)

woof woofwoof woof

Ike did - that's who!

Take a look at Ike's World Challenge (here) to see the cutest BOWS creations, both from the Designers and in the Entries.
You can find Ike's Doggies at Ike's Store (here).

For my bulldog, I decided to try my hand at an art style my good friend creates with - pebbles, rocks and boulders.

Well!  Let's say this is not my medium.  Oh my goodness - you should have heard me cursing each and every little pebble I picked up.  First, using my thingidoodle that you make holes for brads, then my tweezers (of every sort) then subserving to what my friend uses - toothpicks.

I tried putting a collar bow of glue on my doggie.  UGH GRRR !&*$(#!

Then I put a blob of glue on my table and dabbed, picked up the pebble and placed (or NOT!)  They stick to the tweezers, toothpick, and not the paper!

My friend Michelle, on the other desk in my Craft Room was mildly sympathetic to my ("@^*&%!") every 2 seconds.

The art piece took me an hour, this little (bleep bleep) bow took 3 hours. Mind you, Netflix was going on right in front of me, but still - FR-UST-ER-A-TING - to no end!

So, what is this to say?

I like the outcome somewhat but what I really learned is this.  You can love what another person does, watch them do it with ease - but massive concentration in my friend's case - but that does NOT mean it is your medium, meant for you to create with, akin to your creative soul.

Oh, I know - you might be thinking "patience, time to learn it, start at the beginning or give yourself a break!"

But - NOPE!

I know when a size 9 shoe is WAY TO BIG for my size 7 foot.

And sometimes, acceptance is the best route. GRRR.

Or, in my case last night, stand up proudly, look those little fricken pebbles right in the eyes and say "@!$%^# - and there it shall be."

In the end though, Praise G-d I am done, I do hope you like my itsy bitsy pebbles and glue and pearl BOW!

My saving Grace here is that the FOCUS is Ike's Digital Doggie that I thoroughly enjoyed coloring!!!

Bless You!

And...it all ends up in Sunshine!
Thanks G-d.

I have a new role over at Ike's Challenge Blog!
And am pretty excited about this.

I will now be a Guest Designer, working alongside Ike's Designers.  I've been with Ike pretty much since the Challenge's inception and have loved it.  I am a fan, first and foremost, of Ike's Creations.
And I cherish Ike as a friend.

So onward and forward to 2017.

Ike has changed up the Challenge Requirements for 2017.
Out with the Old and In with the New.

The new requirements, to enter Ike's World Challenge, is for your entry to be
  • ANYTHING GOES with a TWIST (if anyone cares to use the TWIST as a theme direction
  • To use Ike's Images which you can get at IkesArt Store (of course this would be terrific)
  • To use the FREEBIE that Ike provides for each Challenge
  • Or to use what you have on hand.

How great and open is that!
The wish is that the Design Team will see all kinds of Groovy, Funky Dunk Art =
The Art that comes from Your Soul!

Few challenges give such a wide array of choices.
I so admire Ike for coming up with this and all its flavours!

Having said this, as you know, it is  rare that I do not use Ike's Images on my blog, but for this particular Challenge being VINTAGE, I was too excited to use up
my Stash of Vintage Paper Dolls and Ephemera
and not use stamped or digital image.

Oh, the glory of Choices!

Well, I sure hope you enjoy what I came up with and I wish you a Happy, Peaceful, Loving 2017.

The Book Den

So excited about the image above drawn for me by IKE (IKE'S STORE HERE) being used on IKES CHALLENGE (IKE'S WORLD CHALLENGE HERE).

One of the teamies, SALL (SALL'S BAKING ADDICTION HERE) suggested a Hans Christian type of image for the Holiday Picture.  I am not familiar with the HC Stories, so I asked Sall how I could do this in a freaky type of way.  And off her mind went!  As you see on my sidebar - I call her the Dr. of Imagination.  And Ike, once told of this idea, well - WOW WOW and WOW.  We never imagined it would come out like this, given my description was "lots of books falling from a bookcase and a skelly!  Masterful - just masterful Sall and Ike!

I hope you enjoy how I created with the two women's brilliance.

I am so thankful to my Dentist, Fred.  I also thank the blog I design for, who gives me the momentum and inspiration to make this post.  IKE'S WORLD CHALLENGE BLOG.  And also I'd like to thank the artist - IKE - for making this image for me.  You can get it at Ike's Store (here) if you'd like to gift your dentist using it.

And Thanksgiving is our Theme this week; I hope you will go over and enter!

Now, on to Fred.

Fred is 82 years old and continues to work because he is irrate that dentists make it impossible for people to get the proper care, due to high fees.  Fred taught dentistry for many years, makes dentures, does implants and all surgeries.

He is a master.

But more than all that, Fred has been living with Cancer for 10 years.  As of my visit today, Fred just found out he has more tumours on his stomach.  His cancer is throughout his entire body.  He goes for Dialysis 3 times a week in Downtown Toronto, 5 hours each visit.  Many times he has nearly passed out on his way home on the subway.  Today he told me about a time he had to lay down on the platform because he was going to pass out.  He said "it was so embarrassing but a guy has to do what a guy has to do."

To put it into perspective, Fred takes a Limousine from the Train, which is an hour from his office, each day.  The Limousine costs $190.00 a day.  He works where I live - 2 hours outside Toronto and travels on the Train, and then by Limo, just to help people who are getting ripped off or getting needless surgeries etc.

There is not a time I have visited and I visit almost every week to see him, that he has not asked about how my mom is doing (without my dad) and how my son is doing at Uni.  He remembers exactly what my son is taking, about his travels and about every conversation I have with him about my own life and family.  I am not astounded that his memory is in tact, as I give this credit to people of this age because it reflects my own mother's memory.  I am astounded because Fred sees most of the people here in the County and remembers each and every person's "story."

Today was his last day.  The Association of Dentists and Denturists are forbidding him to work beyond November 30th, his 83rd birthday, without taking "courses!"  Of course this is laughable to anyone that knows Fred.  He interviewed many people to take his job and told me about one "girl" as he put it, in particular.  He said she told him "she knows all that has to be done."  Fred said she graduated 6 months ago.  Fred answered her "that is extremely impressive because after 10 years in this business, and I've been in it now for 60, I only new 'something' and that 'something' didn't save a person's life!"  I asked him what she replied.  He said "she didn't hear me, just like she won't hear the patients.  In this job you need to not only hear your patients but you need to feel what they feel.  Most of all, you need patience.  Education doesn't breed patience.  It drills it out of you!"

He is a wise man.

Fred said he will come back to visit, and call me when he will be in.  I will make every effort to go and visit with him.  It is selfish really - I feel I am the one who gets the gift of Fred even though he said each and every patient has been a gift to him.

I hope you enjoy the gift I made for Fred.  I filled it with some raunchy, sexy, lude game game similar to checkers.  He loved it! lol  Fred loves EVERYTHING!!!  Most of all - LIFE - something he has beaten the odds at for 13 years longer than the doctors gave him.  I love this man.

The beauty of Paris never gets tired!

Match it with birds, flowers, stamps, anything vintage or romantic and ahhhhh - the emotions it evokes are always the same for me.

Like being taken far far away into another world and another time.

I think the French {ahem my birthrite} just have this knack of teleportation to anything that speaks "romance" or "the land of love!"

I am in love with Birds and Flutterby Art!  Whenever I see a painting, sketch or picture of butterfies, in particular, I just am sure there is "good luck" and "well wishes" in the air.

I felt like this when I was creating this scene...Just happy - super duper happy.

Nature can do that.

Just make the world look and feel soooo good!

I just discovered this site (that I fear is about to close) that has FREE DIGITAL STAMPS each day of the week, and as well in their title bar.  Josie, in addition, has posted a daily list of FDS.  I am in awe of such a person who takes this on.  For those of you who come here, I hope you benefit from this list.
